Attention, book lovers: Big Bad Wolf’s organizers announced that this year’s book sale will be held online and on a nationwide scale.
Book fairs are paradise on earth for bookworms. There’s nothing quite as enjoyable as browsing all shelves and all booths for the perfect titles to purchase.
The Big Bad Wolf book sale has always been a favorite among Filipino bookworms. Each book are incredibly discounted because they are “remaindered” – meaning, these are the books that the publishers offered with minor shelf wear at discounted rates.
Back before the pandemic, the Big Bad Wolf book sale had always been held at the World Trade Center when the caravan goes to Manila. The center is open for 24 hours in a span of 10 days too. Day or night, bookworms can come splurge on huge carts of books and have their hearts filled and wallets empty.
Just recently, Big Bad Wolf’s organizers announced that this year’s book sale will be held online and on a nationwide scale.
“Sa Luzon, sa Visayas, at sa Mindanao… I hear your cries Wolfies and don’t worry I am coming to you very SOON!” they said on a Facebook post.
Big Bad Wolf co-founder Jacqueline Ng said at a virtual press conference last Thursday, June 17, about holding the book fair online, “I feel like it’s a good accessible platform for everyone but at the same time we can’t wait to go back to our physical sale.”
Back then, the book sale was held in Manila, Cebu, Pampanga, or Davao, and bookworms from other places had to travel to far distances or engage in pasabuy transactions just to get what books they’ve been eyeing. Today, everybody can buy as the books will be delivered right to your doorsteps. Since all books will come from Malaysia, each order will take from 18 to 24 business days until it arrives at your doorstep.
This year, there will be around 60,000 titles up for sale at up to 99% off. It will be held from June 30 to July 7.
Online payments will be accepted through Dragonpay, eGHL, GCash, GrabPay, BDO, and BPI. Cash on delivery (COD) is not accepted.
There are also lots of promotions to entice other people to buy from the book sale. P10 book deals will be available to those who will buy books at a minimum purchase of P1,800. Discount coupons and deals on certain collections are also available. Plus, free shipping will be granted to those who will spend a minimum purchase of P2,900 throughout the sale period. (EFO)
