The Quezon Police Provincial Office (QPPO) once again proved its strong commitment in the fight against illegal drugs following the arrest of two High Value Individuals (HVIs) during a buy‑bust operation conducted in Barangay Dalahican, Lucena City last May 5, 2026.
The suspects were identified as alias “Manny”, 53 years old, and alias “Jack”, 32 years old, both residents of Lucena City. They have previous records for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The operation was carried out around 4:40 in the afternoon by the Intelligence Section and Station Drug Enforcement Unit of Lucena City Police Station, together with Quezon Maritime Police Station and in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA). It led to the arrest of the targets and recovery of various pieces of evidence.
Recovered from them were approximately 300 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱2,040,000.00 based on PDEA standard price and with an estimated street value of ₱6,120,000.00.
About 11 kilograms of marijuana worth ₱1,320,000.00 standard price and ₱3,960,000.00 in street value was also seized.
Other confiscated items include a digital weighing scale, marked money amounting to ₱500, one caliber .38 firearm with six rounds of ammunition, and a pink sling bag.
The activity was documented using an Alternative Recording Device to ensure the transparency and integrity of police operations.
At present, the suspects are detained at Lucena City Police Station while appropriate cases are being prepared for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of RA 9165, as well as RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
According to QPPO Provincial Director PCOL Romulo A. Albacea, “We will further intensify our operations to ensure the safety of every citizen. The arrest of these High Value Individuals is proof that Quezon PPO will never stop in suppressing illegal drug activities and criminality in our area.”
The QPPO also continues to call for public cooperation and support by providing reliable information to authorities to finally eradicate the drug menace in the province.
