This year's celebration of the Anilag Festival in Laguna province marks the first staging of the province-wide celebration under the administration of Governor Sol Aragones, highlighting not only Laguna’s products but also the rich talents of its people.
Dubbed “Anilag Level-Up,” Anilag Festival 2026 expands its focus beyond showcasing agricultural goods and local industries to include performances by homegrown artists from across the province.
Aragones emphasized that, aside from local government units (LGUs), local performers will also be recognized and awarded in various competition categories, giving greater importance to the creative sector.
Following the soft opening held yesterday, the festival officially opens today with a grand ceremony led by provincial government officials, including Aragones, alongside tourism officers from all municipalities and cities of Laguna.
A major highlight of the opening is the formal launch of the Agri-Tourism Trade Fair, which features a wide array of products and attractions from participating localities.
Adding excitement to the celebration is the participation of members of the popular dance group SexBomb Girls, expected to draw large crowds during the festivities.
Organizers anticipate an influx of visitors and tourists, as the festival aims to boost tourism in Laguna while promoting the unique products, culture, and talents of every city and municipality in the province.
Anilag 2026 also proved to be an "inclusive" festival, featuring contests geared at all ages and gender.
During the festivities, "Vera" from Santa Cruz was crowned Miss Gay Anilag 2026, while "Emmanuelle" from Siniloan was chosen as 2nd runner-up and “Angel” from Calauan 3rd runner-up.
The Biñan City Centre of Performing Arts was also chosen as champion at the “Batang Laguna: Tunog 80s at 90s” dance competition, while Santa Rosa City's "The Lion Movers" was chosen as 1st runner-up and Calamba City's "League of Monsters" became 2nd runner-up.
