From March 9 to 15, Lagunenses once again celebrated the bountiful fruits of its labors with its Anilag (Ani ng Laguna) Festival.
The weeklong festivities held at the provincial capital in Santa Cruz brought together the best of the best of the talents, economy and culture of Laguna’s six cities and 24 municipalities.
“This year’s tagline ‘Sama-sama Tayo sa Tuloy-Tuloy na Saya sa Laguna’ showcases the grand and joyous celebration of Laguna’s rich culture deep-rooted in its colorful heritage and hard-fought legacy of freedom,” the Laguna Provincial Information Office announced in its official press release.
The festival kicked off on Sunday, March 9, with a Heritage Fluvial Parade & Marian Procession with the image of Our Lady of Turumba, starting from the waters of Laguna Lake in Pakil municipality to the Festival Grounds in the Provincial Capitol compound.
It was followed by a Thanksgiving Mass after which Governor Ramil led the opening of the Trade Fair Exhibit & Ani ng Laguna Booth.
