Weddings are lovelier and, even livelier, the second time around.
That is if the couple have enough money to spend on an expanded celebration, big or small, here or overseas or the passion to express their love for each other unconditionally which is simply a sign of magnanimity.
Actress Angelica Panganiban and Fil-Aussie businessman Gregg Homan just exemplified the two conditions of another wedding.
It happened last April 20, 2024 at Siargao Island.
The first wedding pulled off by Angelica and Gregg was in Los Angeles, California.
Although exclusive and reclusive from their kith and kin and fans, the US wedding was witnessed by Panganiban's closest pals in showbiz, namely Kim Chiu and Bela Padilla.
Meanwhile, in the Siargao event, there were more well-wishers.
Aside from Kim and Bela, Anne Curtis, Glaiza de Castro, Maxene Magalona, among others.
There was a series of events from a bachelorette party to the main event which is the wedding itself and a post-matrimony gig at night where Anne took the musical mic to share her tunes with her so-called "twin sister."
Food and drinks flooded the Siargao beach with fun and laughter.
But the most exciting of them all was the performance of Angie and Gregg's first-born, the three-year-old Amila Sabine who was the flower girl of her parents.
Another memorable part of the wedding was when Angelica delivered her marriage vows, a pledge of love to Gregg. "Ilang beses din akong nadapa, nasaktan, umiyak, pero ni minsan hindi ako sumuko sa pag-ibig. Alam ko na darating din ang panahon na ibibigay din sa akin ng Bathala ang karapatdapat at dumating ang araw na hindi ko malilimutan. Dumating ka. Ikaw ang naging sagot sa lahat ng bakit ko noon (How many times have I stumbled and fell, pained, cried but I never gave up on love. I knew that time would come that Bathala (God) would give me the deserving one and the day has come that I won’t forget. You came into my life. You are the answers to all my whys and wherefores," vowed Angelica.
"Dahil sa 'yo naging sapat ako. Salamat dahil hindi lang ikaw ang dumating. Dumating ang isang tao na hihigitan pa ang kapasidad kong magmahal ng dumating si Bean sa buhay natin. Pangakong hindi na ako matatakot, at sasanayin ko na ang sarili ko na may nagmamahal na sa akin ng totoo at nag-aalaga ng wagas, kasi ang sarap pala pag nasusuklian ang lahat ng ibinibigay ko. Habang buhay, mahal kita (Because of you I am complete. Thank you that you were not the only one who came. Someone came who would certainly exceed my capacity to love and Bean came along into our lives. I promised I won’t fear life anymore and I would get used to the feeling that someone loves me truly and cares sincerely because I feel good when what I give is reciprocated. I love you as long as I live).”
