While Beth Jones, the indefatigable and irrepressible mother of actress and former politician Angelica Jones of San Pablo City, was very happy and proud of her daughter's achievements in social and political activities. But the feisty Beth was in a threatening mode about her grandson, now 11 years old, but is not yet acknowledged by his father.

The threat stemmed from the issue that her future-ex son-in-law Dr. Gerald Alday, a politician from San Jose, Batangas, hasn't signed yet, as the biological father, the birth certificate of her grandson, Angelo Timothy Benedict Alday.

"Ano pa ba naman ang gusto niya? Nagpa-DNA test na kami at anak talaga niya si Angelo, bakit hindi pa siya pumirma? Madali lang naman 'yon (What else does he want? We have already performed the DNA test and he is the real father of Angelo. Why can't he not sign the documents?)," Beth asked.
"Bakit naman nagpapahirapan pa kami? Totoo namang siya ang tatay. May mga ebidensiya na. Bakit gano'n (Why are we making it difficult? It's true that he's the father, after all. There are already pieces of evidence. Still, why?)," she added.

What will happen when Dr. Alday still refuse to sign the birth certificate?

"Aba, wala kaming nagagawa. Kung gayon, baka patanggalan ko siya ng kanyang lisensia (Oh! We can't do anything about. If that's the case, I might ask the court to cancel his license)," she quipped.

Meanwhile, Angelica is balancing her act as she diplomatically managed the situation. "Tuloy pa rin ang petition ko na kilalanin niya ang anak namin basta pumirma siya sa (I stand by my petition for the acknowledgement of our son as long as he signs the birth certificate)," said Angelica casually if not phlegmatically.

Eleven-year-old Angelo Alday is hopeful his dad will sign the documents the soonest.

"Opo, sana po, mag-sign na siya (Yes, I hope he already sign it)," Angelo said in a low tone.

Angelica, Angelo and Beth came all the way from their home in San Pablo City to SM The Block to attend the premiere showing of the film "When Magic Hurts" which stars Beaver Magtalas, Maxine Trinidad and Mutya Orquia with Angelica, Claudine Barretto, Soliman Cruz, Aileen Papin, Dennis Padilla, Archi Adamos, among others.
