The new go-kart joins the likes of City Kart Racing in Circuit Makati and the Clark Kart Track, but with one important difference: EKartRaceway is built indoors, making it safe from the elements and available at all times during mall hours.
Kart enthusiasts in Metro Manila may soon get a chance to enjoy their sport at the EKartRaceway, an electric go-kart currently being built inside the 3rd floor of the main mall of SM City North Edsa, Quezon City.
The tentative date of opening is in December 2021.
The new go-kart joins the likes of City Kart Racing in Circuit Makati and the Clark Kart Track, but with one important difference: EKartRaceway is built indoors, making it safe from the elements and available at all times during mall hours.
On their Facebook page, EKartRaceway shared that they will be using the “modern technology in electric go karts [called] Blue Shock Race” which is also used in other countries.
The 300-meter track will have “the most advanced proprietary safety barriers and automated GPS tracking warning system to avoid collisions or delays for our motto of safe, serious fun.”
Beginners and seasoned racers will be able to book and track their timing records online.
While awaiting the opening of the metro’s first indoor go-kart track, you can contact EKartRaceway for information on pre-booking, group discounts, and preferential scheduling.
As of writing, no prices or rates have been formally announced but the company has said that the proposed pricing “starts below P999 per race.”
However, Metro Manila may have to wait longer for entertainment centers to open under the new Covid-19 Alert Level System. Based on the new system, EKartRaceway may open under Alert Level 2.
Some racers may have been compromising with virtual racing and racing video games but now that EKartRaceway is under construction, even Mario Kart gamers can finally have some safe physically distanced fun.
