It isn't only rapper Elias and the husband and wife musical team of Sweetnotes that are taking the Visayas by storm.
It's also the Amazing Diva Armida Zuniga who has conquered the region.
Armida, the former Armie Zuniga, recently arrived in Iloilo City to perform nightly at the Bridges Bistro of Gateway Hotel and Suites in Iloilo City.
At the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 2 alone, Armida was already a crowd-drawer.
When she checked in at the boarding pass and baggage counter, Zuniga was already a stunning and a head turning lady with not a few curious souls asking for her name.
What more when she arrived at the Iloilo International Airport that people noticed her.
But the more attraction Armida unleashed was during her first night at the bar owned by balladeer and hotelier Aristeo Demavivas, more popularly known as Aris Demavivas.
When Armida belted out Barbra Streisand's "Memory" and "Some Good Things Never Last" and Lady Gaga's "Always Remember Us This Way," the crowd went wild.
There were these balikbayans from Canada and Italy who were easily enamored with the singing prowess of Zuniga.
When she did Didith Reyes' "Bakit Ako Mahihiya?" and Lani Misalucha's "Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin " the house broke down.
There were other covers she performed which made her more endeared to the audience.
Armida is scheduled to sing in Aris' place until the end of January but Demavivas is requesting an extension of her performances.
