Fashion czar Albert Figueras has been very open about his admiration for the Marcoses, not least of all, to President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.
But it's not his political persuasion that brought him to the Kannawidan fashion show but instead his sartorial designing skills paved the way for his participation in the event.
The Kannawidan Foundation, mostly Marcos admirers, according to Albert, called him up to be part of the fashion gala.
It was news hen Cherry Bong Edralin who informed Albert about the group's interest in tapping him as one of the three Manila designers--the two being Toni Galang and Renee Salud--to showcase his latest creations at the Manila Hotel on January 26, 2025.
"To make the show more relevant, two designers from Ilocos are joining the show," said Figueras.
The still untitled show is meant to raise funds for the projects of Kannawidan Foundation in Ilocandia.
Albert is given the liberty to choose his own mannequins to showcase his art.
"So honored to be chosen as one of the three Manila Designers (together with Toni Galang and Renee Salud) for the KANNAWIDAN Fashion Show Gala to be held at Manila Hotel on Jan. 26, 2025. It will be directed by Mr. Raymond Villanueva," Albert posted in his social media spaces.
Figueras has just done his part at the Obra Maestra fashion show held at the Metropolitan Theater in Manila.
