KALIBO, Aklan – Tingog Party-list Representative Yedda Marie Romualdez’s initiative to establish Alagang Tingog Centers (ATC) in the towns of Tangalan and Malay, Aklan, is a commendable step towards enhancing local access to crucial government services.

The centers, inaugurated on June 20, streamline the delivery of assistance in areas such as healthcare, transportation, and livelihood support.

Romualdez, along with Presidential Assistant for the Visayas Undersecretary Terence Calatrava, Aklan 2nd District Representative Teodorico Haresco Jr., and Tangalan Mayor Gary Fuentes, spearheaded the opening of the Tangalan ATC.

This initiative underscores a commitment to ensuring that government aid reaches the grassroots level efficiently.

Successful Partnership

The ATC centers promise a range of services in partnership with various government agencies, including the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Department of Agriculture (DA).

These partnerships facilitate the provision of Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) payouts to student-scholars and the distribution of Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) cash aid to farmers.

Romualdez emphasized that the resources funneled through these centers are meant for the people, highlighting the importance of transparency and accountability in the utilization of public funds. This assurance resonates well with the residents, fostering trust and community engagement.

Local leaders, including Kalibo Mayor Juris Sucro, Makato Mayor Ramon Anselmo Martin Legaspi III, Malay Mayor Frolibar Bautista, and Libacao Mayor Charit Navarosa, also attended the inauguration, reflecting a unified effort to support the program.

One-Stop Centers

The establishment of these one-stop centers is a significant move to address the immediate needs of Aklan's residents. It exemplifies a practical approach to governance, where the focus is on bringing services closer to the people rather than making them navigate bureaucratic hurdles.

The Alagang Tingog Centers are a vital addition to Aklan’s public service infrastructure. By facilitating easier access to essential services, these centers not only aid in crises but also contribute to the long-term welfare and development of the local communities.

This initiative should serve as a model for other regions aiming to enhance the delivery of public services.
