OTS probes in unprofessional behavior of MIAA employees while K-pop boy group ENHYPEN were going through airport security.

After wrapping up their successful sold-out three-night MANIFESTO concert in Manila, ENHYPEN once again made headlines before leaving the country but not for anything related to their concert.

Netizens were quick to point out the unprofessional behavior of Ninoy Aquino Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 employees as the k-pop idols went through security check before boarding their plane en-route to Korea.

In a Tiktok video posted, the employees were seen giggling while frisking and taking videos of the boys going through airport security despite MIAA’s no-contact security protocols, which said that pat downs are only done under “exceptional cases.”

On the video, it can also be seen that the employees were taking videos of the group, which fans pointed out was a violation of the etiquette guidelines posted by ENHYPEN’s agency BELIFT LAB, which stated that recording at airport security checkpoints was not allowed, reported Rappler.

On February 6, the Office for Transportation Security (OTS) of the Philippines issued a statement regarding the video, stating they were aware of the situation.

“It has come to the attention of the Office for Transportation Security (OTS) that there is a video circulating on social media, showing that airport Security Screening Officers allegedly exhibited unprofessional behavior and the unwarranted filming during the conduct of security screening procedures on a group of departing Korean artists at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.”

“The management is currently investigating the matter to determine the extent of violation committed based on existing rules and security screening protocols if any, and impose appropriate administrative sanctions, should it be necessary.”

“Rest assured that the OTS shall never tolerate any unprofessional behavior towards the riding public,” they added, reported Manila Bulletin.

The OTS is “the single authority responsible for the security of the transportation systems of the country,” and should be accountable for instances like these where security and safety of passengers are obviously compromised.
