Budget airline AirAsia Philippines will undergo a system upgrade on July 10, and passengers with domestic and international flights should check-in on airasia.com or the AirAsia MOVE app at least two days before their departure.

The system upgrade is scheduled to take place between 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. on July 11.

This will impact all online transactions from bookings, check-in procedures, online kiosks, and bag drop services at all AirAsia-operated airports.

AirAsia Philippines management announced that online services available through the AirAsia MOVE app, such as manage booking, check-in, payment for existing bookings, and other add-ons and purchases, will also be temporarily unavailable.

"During this period, guests are advised to go directly to the check-in counters to secure their printed boarding passes," the airline said.

It also urges passengers requiring medical and other special assistance to arrive at the airport earlier than 7 p.m. to facilitate their needs.

"AirAsia's system upgrade which includes the updating of its New Skies software is expected to fast track all online transactions (mobile app and on ground) from booking, payment, flight schedule modification, check-in and purchase of add-ons, providing guests with enhanced customer experience. Guests can also expect more add-on features with the AirAsia MOVE as a result of the system upgrade," said Steve Dailisan, AirAsia Philippines head of Communications and Public Affairs.

Dailisan added that "all our systems will be down at the airport. Therefore, before the system upgrade, we wiil print the boarding passes and distribute them to passengers as they check in."

The airline said that despite the system upgrade, no flights will be affected.
