Low-cost airline AirAsia Philippines has bolstered support to Davao City's annual celebration by joining the Pamulak sa Kadayawan Floral Float Parade for the third consecutive year this August 20.
AirAsia Philippines Head for Communications and Public Affairs Steve Dailisan said the airline's continuous commitment to providing low-cost travel for air travelers could pave the way for the Davao City Tourism Office to reach its goal of attracting approximately 1.8 million visitors this year, in an effort to revitalize the city's tourism sector now that the country has officially exited the state of national health emergency.
"AirAsia values the importance of these events in preserving and showcasing the rich heritage of each AirAsia destination. Supporting local cultural and festival events like this is a testament to our commitment to promoting tourism, as we continue to provide affordable and convenient travel options that enable our guests to have a once-in-a-lifetime festive experience," Dailisan said.
He added that AirAsia Allstar pilots, cabin crew, ground staff, as well as two of this generation's brightest stars, Michelle Vito and Thea Tolentino, are expected to color and meet the streets of Davao City with a grand parade float that showcases the vibrant and diverse culture of the region.
Allstar is a term that describes AirAsia's employees.
To entice more travelers to visit their bucket list destinations in the Philippines and the ASEAN, the airline is offering another round of its PISO Sale!
From August 18 - 27, air travelers can grab a chance to fly to popular destinations such as Davao, Cagayan De Oro, Caticlan, Roxas City, and many others, including international destinations Osaka and Seoul, for as low as P1 one-way base fare for travels from February 19, 2024 to June 19, 2025.
Dailisan further said that as an airline known for democratizing air travel, AirAsia's PISO sale and the recently concluded 8's a SALE is expected to cushion the effect of the Civil Aeronautics Board's (CAB) recent advisory on the fuel surcharge Level 6 increase.
A Level 6 fuel surcharge means that travelers purchasing their tickets next month may expect an additional surcharge between P185 to P665 for domestic flights and P610.37 to P4,538.40 for international flights, depending on the distance.
