After PhilHealth, hackers hostage House of Representatives' website

AFTER hostaging senstive information uploaded in the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation's database, hackers made a grand display of its cyber prowess by seizing control of the House of Representatives's website.

House Secretary General Reginald Velasco in a statement confirmed the hacking incident perpetrated by a group which calls itself as 3Musketeerz with its emblen prominently displayed on the lower house's landing page.

Velasco said that press releases and committee schedules on the website were altered.

He however assued the public that the House of Representatives is already working with other agencies to investigate the incident.

"Immediate steps have been taken to address the issue, and we are working closely with the Department of Information and Communications Technology, Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center and law enforcement agencies concerned to investigate the matter."

"While we work to restore the website fully, we ask for patience and understanding," Velasco added.
"For the moment, we advise the public to be cautious of any suspicious emails or communications that claim to be from the House of Representatives."
