Show business is only one portion, a small dot in a large box of specks.

Whether you like it or not, show business is as important as breathing.

It is life as well, a part of the larger society.

It is not only a reflection or simulation it is a realization of the quotidian.

Life as death is a reality in showbiz as integrals of human agency.

They are complementary, they are dialectics as masked images of joy and sadness, hope and despair, love and hate etc. and all types of emotions in between.

These past weeks saw the appearances of both gains and pains in the biz.

The rise of the young TV host-onliners of "It's Showtime," the success of iconic fashion designer Albert Figueras' gig at "Fashion Forte XXIV," the installation of Lea Salonga's name in Hollywood Walk of Fame etc.

Lea's roots are entrenched in Pulupandan, Negros Occidental where her mom Ligaya Imutan Salonga originated.

For the meantime, actress Vida Verde might not be seen regularly on TV or movies but she is very active in multimedia including social media—her contact point.

It is where we update news about her like the death of her gay sister John Jenally Clemente Mejia recently.

From Alaska, the still living but weak cancer patient John was enplaned to Manila but died in his native town Tumauini, Isabela in Region II.

It was in the public cemetery of Tumauini where the LGBTQIA+ member was buried.

"Hindi nauubos ang luha ko sa kamatayan ng pinakamamahal kong kapatid (My tears are flowing incessantly over the death of my sibling)," said Vida, Catherine Clemente Mejia in real life.

Meanwhile, Ice Seguerra, a bona fide native son of Calauag, Quezon, a town in Region IV-A still grieves over the death of her mom but she is unfolding a renewed life.

Entertainment editor Art Tapalla of Hilabaan, Dolores, Eastern Samar which belongs to Region 8 has just finished praying for the repose of the soul of one of his townmates and cousins.

"Wala pa akong tulog mula sa lamay at libing ng pinsan kong Waraynon sa Manila Memorial Park. Hindi na naiuwi sa Samar dahil nasa Maynila naman ang pamilya niya (I don't have enough sleep yet from the wake and burial of my cousin. The remains were not transported to the province since my relative's family is here)," informed Art who still cries over death in the family.
