Actress, ex-Pagsanjan mayor Maita Sanchez dies

The people of Pagsanjan, Laguna are mourning in the sudden demise of their former mayor, actress Maita Sanchez, Maita Javier Ejercito in real life.

Maita (wife of erstwhile Laguna governor and Pagsanjan mayor Emilio Ramon Ejercito, popularly known as E.R. Ejercito), died of endometrial cancer at the St. Luke's Medical Center (SLMC) Quezon City at 12:01 AM Sunday, November 3.

Javier-Ejercito was survived by husband, former Laguna Governor E.R. Ejercito, and their children Eric, Jet, Jerico, Jhulia, Diego and Gabriela.

Her remains lie at the Ejercito mansion in Pagsanjan.

Before her death, Maita had appeared in Regal Entertainment's "Shake, Rattle & Roll Extreme" in 2023.

Javier-Ejercito's wake will be until November 9, 2024.

She was 55.
