ABS-CBN Corporation will be back in their original home, beginning May 13.
This is following their partnership with the Villar-owned Advanced Media Broadcasting System (ABMS), the now-holder of Channel 2, an analog frequency formerly held by the ABS-CBN.
It is remarkable that on May 5, 2020, the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) ordered the free-tv channel 2 to go off-air their free TV and radio broadcasts following the expiration of their franchise.
Three years following the network’s sudden closure; causing the massive layoff of thousands of ABS-CBN employees; the media giant continued producing contents that were distributed to various channels, including A2Z Channel 11, TV5, and their then closest TV rating rival, GMA 7.
This is a revolutionary moment in the Philippine entertainment landscape.
Through that, Kapamilya will rewatch the remarkable shows under the Jeepney TV brand and will keep up to date on the latest news and current affairs on TV Patrol.
Present on the part of Villar Group in the contract signing were former senator Manny Villar, chairman of Villar Group; Sen. Mark Villar and Paolo Villar, Vista Land & Lifescapes Inc president and CEO; Camille Villar, All Value Holdings Corporation president and CEO; Maribeth Tolentino, ABMS president, and Cecille Bernardo, ABMS CFO.
On the other hand, present on the part of ABS-CBN are its Chairman Mark Lopez, President and CEO Carlo Katigbak, Chief Operating Officer Cory Vidanes, Group CFO Rick Tan, and Chief Partnership Officer Bobby Barriero.
