Just weeks after announcing their engagement, a new Mrs. Romualdez is introduced to Tacloban City.

Tacloban Councilor Raymund Romualdez, son of Tacloban City Mayor Alfred Romualdez, recently tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend, Raissa Tan.

The couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony exclusively attended by select significant people in their lives.

VIPs In Attendance

Among the attendees were Philippine President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr. and First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos, who are also among the couple’s handpicked ninongs and ninangs.

House Speaker Martin Romualdez and wife Congresswoman Yedda Marie Romualdez were also spotted.

While the city is very much familiar with the groom, who is currently serving as Chairman of Barangay 88, a member of Tacloban City Council, and president of the Liga ng mga Barangay of Tacloban and in the whole of Eastern Visayas, many were curious as to who the bride is.

Low Key

While her husband had long been on the spotlight, the new Mrs. Romualdez is a "simple" entrepreneur and an advocate of ecotourism of the region.

According to sources, among her latest ventures is a surfing school located in Calicoan, Guiuan, Eastern Samar.

Despite being a name in the resort and hotel industry, she is also known to be humble and low key even as she was promoting tourism and supporting her now husband’s projects in the city.

Service First

While many are excited for the newlyweds to start a family, sources said that the couple’s primary goal at present is to serve the Taclobanons in the days to come.
