There is an exciting happening in classical dance in the heart of San Pablo City.
Lagunenses might not be aware of it but one of the sprawling cities in Laguna Province has a ballet school to take pride in.
San Pablo City dance enthusiasts don’t have to go to Shirley Halili-Cruz or Liza Majuxa-Elizalde or Julie Borromeo and other prime studios in ballet anymore just to learn to pirouette or to the allegro and many more movements.
Ballet Regina is right in the middle of the city where the action is.
According to Sovie Vallejos, daughter of the eponymous owner of the ballet school, the dance academy has been in the City of Lakes for a decade or so.
“We are proud that we have graduated so many ballet students,” said Sovie who is one of the teachers in the school and a technical theater apprentice at the CCP.
Vallejos was also a Dance specialist at the Art Apprenticeship of LGMC in Atimonan, Quezon.
Last June, the studio held a recital at the SM San Pablo City and was attended by many spectators.
