Pride, indeed, of a father to see and witness his daughter to come up onstage to receive not only two but three and more honors when she graduated with a business management course from a state university in Region 8.
Associate theater producer and former talent manager Romy Gallego is a proud dad when his unica hija — and only child — Marrow Joson Gallego graduated magna cum laude with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Management from the Eastern Samar State University (ESSU) in Borongan City.
At the Recognition Day held last week, Marrow received two distinctions, Dean's and President's Listers while during graduation day in July 8, 2024, Marrow will be feted with magna cum laude honors.
"Nakakataba ng puso pag nakikita mo ang 'yong pinaghirapan (It's heartwarming if you see your child bears the fruits of his/her labor)," said Romy, actor Ernie Garcia's associate producer and production manager.
"Hatid-sundo ko pa 'yan mula sa amin sa Balangkayan hanggang Borongan at pabalik (I send and fetch her from school)," quipped Gallego.
Award-winning thespian Ernie Garcia, who has seen the development of Joson Gallego from a child to adolescence, has a professional advice to Marrow. "At this point, you should weigh things before you grab any opportunity," advised Ernie as echoed by Romy.
At the moment, according to the father, her daughter has been recruited to work in a hotel in Boracay.
