She’s got Cebuana and CDO lineages
After almost four years as sweethearts, Filipino actress Mara Lopez and American businessman Chandler Booth, decided to formalize their relationship.
It was Chandler who thought of proposing marriage to his girlfriend.
He was recently in Brooklyn, New York when he requested Mara to be with him which she automatically granted after finishing her showbiz commitments of film shoots in the Philippines and the United States of America.
Mara was tear-eyed of happiness when Chandler kneeled in front of her and proposed marriage.
After the engagement, Mara naturally coiled around her fiancé to make the moment more personal and exciting. It was the happiest part of her single-blessedness, so far.
The wedding itself is another milestone Mara is awaiting.
No exact date and venue, at the moment, though, about the wedding, but the Lopezes and the Booths are preparing for the big thing.
As a side trip from New York to the Philippines, let’s ride the journey with Mara, the only daughter of the 1982 Binibining Pilipinas-Universe Maria Isabel Lopez and Japanese businessman Hiroshi Yokohama.
Didn’t you know that Mara is also a Visayan, a Cebuana?
Simply because Maria Isabel was born in Cagayan de Oro City in Misamis Oriental?
In my tete-a-tete with Mara in the past, she would acknowledge her Visayan roots. “Nakaka-excite dahil hindi lang ako Japanese kundi Filipina at ang dami kong ugat na pinanggalingan. Ikinukuwento sa akin ni Mama na Cebuana rin ako. Ipinagmamalaki ko ang aking mga ugat (It’s kinda exciting because I am not only a Japanese but a Filipina as well. I have so many roots. Mama was telling me that I am also a Cebuana. I am proud of my beginnings),” smiled Mara.
