At past noontime one quiet day when most people are at home for siesta, a truck suddenly rammed into seven houses by the roadside in Barangay Caglanipao Sur, Tinambacan in Calbayog City, Samar.
Six immediately died on the spot, including two senior citizens and a minor.

A 27-year-old managed to survive with several injuries but is still under close monitoring.
Reports stated that the driver, "Chico" from Caloocan City was driving the heavy vehicle from Naval, Biliran and was headed for Allen, Northern Samar.
According to Chico, he suddenly lost control of the truck when the breaks malfunctioned causing it to head straight to the residential area.
Authorities estimated that the material damages could reach up to P700, 000.
While the driver managed to survive death, he will not be able to escape the charges that are being filed and was brought to Calbayog City Police Station.
