The Philippine Football Federation released the 45-man roster for the upcoming 2022 Mitsubishi Cup, headed by Azkals’ team captain Stephan Schrock.

The Philippine Men’s Football team is looking forward to bringing 45 players-- a mix of veterans and young blood-- to train with Azkals for the upcoming 2022 Mitsubishi Electric Cup..

An announcement of the team in their social media pages said the training pool of 45 players will be headed by longtime Azkals captain Stephan Schrock—playing coach of the Azkals Development Team (ADT)— and will be joined by players mostly coming from the Philippines Football League.

The Philippine News Agency reported that 13 players from the ADT have been called including strikers Andres Aldeguer and Dov Cariño; midfielders Justin Frias, Jacob Maniti, Harry Nuñez, Chester Pabualan, and CJ Saut; defenders Kamil Amirul, Jaime Rosquillo, and Haren de Gracia; and goalkeepers Icko Mangaoang and Julian Schwarzer.

United Clark's Anthony Pinthus and Kuala Lumpur's Kevin Hansen have also been chosen to compete for the GK spots.

Joining the ADT defenders are Amani Aguinaldo, Jesse Curran, Jesper Nyholm, Jeff Tabinas, Dylan de Bruycker, Christian Rontini, Marco Casambre, Kouichi Belgira, Audie Menzi, Kenshiro Daniels, Simen Lyngbo, and Pete Forrosuelo.

For the players at the middle, making the training pool alongside Schrock, Frias, Maniti, Nuñez, Pabualan, and Saut are Oskari Kekkonen, Michael Baldisimo, Oliver Bias, Pika Minegishi, Kenshiro Daniels, Dennis Chung, Eric Giganto, Nano Amita, Jhan-Jhan Melliza, Cholo Bugas, JB Borlongan, Bryan Ybañez, Chester Pabualan, and Sandro Reyes.

Completing the training roster are forwards Jarvey Gayoso, Ivan Ouano, Finn McDaniel, and Sebastian Rasmussen.

According to Tiebreaker Times, no word has been released as to who will call the shots for the upcoming Mitsubishi Cup but the group is eyeing to return to the semifinals for the first time since 2018.

The PFF’s statement also revealed that the training camp is set to begin on Monday, November 21.
