In observance of the Holy Week, around 3,000 individuals from the urban poor sector staged today the "Kalbaryo ng Maralita" (Calvary of the Poor),
now on its 37th year that kicked off at the Leni-Kiko headquarters in Katipunan Avenue with theme "Wakasan ang Kalbaryo ng mga Maralita, Iluklok ang Tunay na Pagasa." The Kalbaryo portrays the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus which mirror the repeated sufferings of the poor and their continued struggle to free themselves from the scourge of poverty.
