Three Japanese nationals who were allegedly involved in criminal activities in their home country have been deported from the Philippines, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) affirmed.
In a recent statement, BI officials said these nationals, identified as Koyama Tomohir, Nagaura Hirok, and Miura Eisei, were escorted by Japanese police authorities and boarded a flight back to Tokyo last November 19, 2024.
The individuals were deported for violating the conditions of their stay, as stipulated under Section 37(a)(7) of the Philippine Immigration Act of 1940, and on grounds of undesirability.
All three also have standing arrest warrants issued by Japanese authorities for alleged criminal acts, as confirmed through official records of the Japanese government.
This deportation was carried out in close coordination with the Japanese Embassy.
Additionally, their names have been included in the BI's blacklist to prevent their return to the Philippines.
"The Bureau remains committed to ensuring that foreign nationals within the country adhere to Philippine laws and regulations, in line with its mandate to safeguard the nation’s security and interests," BI officials said.
