"This accreditation is one of the government's projects aimed at restoring and accelerating economic growth, in which a safer and healthier working environment plays a big role," according to DOLE Quezon Head Edwin Hernandez.

LUCENA CITY, Quezon - Peter Paul Philippine Corporation and Johanna’s Chicken Processing Center, Inc. received Safety Seal Certifications from the Department of Labor and Employment Quezon Provincial Office (DOLE QPO).

The Safety Seal, which should be displayed prominently at all entrance points of the building or establishment, is a voluntary certification scheme that certifies that an establishment complies with the government's minimum public health standards and uses or integrates its contact tracing with StaySafe.ph.

The safety seal certification, according to DOLE Quezon Head Edwin Hernandez, "confirmed Peter Paul and Johanna's Chicken's dedication to the highest standards of health and safety."

"This accreditation is one of the government's projects aimed at restoring and accelerating economic growth, in which a safer and healthier working environment plays a big role," Hernandez added.

Froilan Villanueva, Peter Paul's Vice President for Operations, expressed his gratitude to DOLE QPO for recognizing their efforts to protect their employees and products, and stated that safety is one of their core values, and that it is the foundation of their implementation of precautionary measures as mandated by the government and their own company standards.

"This Safety Seal Certification is a testament to the degree of priority we place on ensuring the safety of our employees and the cleanliness of our products," Villanueva said.

The Peter Paul Philippine Corporation, based in Candelaria, Quezon, is the world's largest single desiccated coconut producing facility, with a capacity of 22,000 metric tons per year.

The company is dedicated to enhancing its core strengths as a leading manufacturer of desiccated coconut, as well as other coconut-based products such as coconut milk and cream, and, most recently, special dietary foods.

Peter Paul's products can be found in all major markets, including North and South America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, where it has a significant market share. Customers of Peter Paul include some of today's most well-known household name brands in the confectionery, cookie, and cereal industries.

Johanna's Chicken Process Center, Inc., on the other hand, is a chicken dressing plant in Brgy. Bocohan, Lucena City, Quezon. It was founded and debuted in October 1994, with only 25 employees and a daily capacity of 500 birds. The flow of the operation was smoothed out, and the capacity was increased from 500 to 3,500 birds per day, thanks to the technical and operational help of San Miguel Foods Inc.

Johanna's Chicken Processing Center Inc. continues to provide San Miguel Foods Inc. with high-quality fresh, frozen, and export chicken products, ensuring that they are fit for human consumption.
