A total of 13 churches in Laguna province have been chosen as special “pilgrimage sites” for Catholic Filipinos to visit for the celebration of Jubilee 2025 next year.

In a report by CBCP News on November 4, the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) said these churches will serve as places of pilgrimage for the special “time of spiritual renewal and grace for the universal Church.”

“These sacred sites will offer the faithful an opportunity for deeper reflection, conversion, and the experience of God’s infinite mercy,” Cardinal-elect Pablo Virgilio David, CBCP president, said.

Jubilee pilgrimages also offer the faithful the chance to receive a plenary indulgence under the usual conditions: sacramental confession, Eucharistic communion, and prayer for the intentions of the Holy Father.

These churches, all under the jurisdiction of the Diocese of San Pablo, include:

  1. San Vicente Ferrer Parish, Biñan City (For Communicators and those who work in the field of communication)
  2. St. John the Baptist Parish, Barangay Longos, Kalayaan (For Police forces, soldiers, security personnel, and those who are working in the government)
  3. San Agustin Parish, Bay (For Educators, artists, athletes)
  4. Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Barangay San Antonio, San Pedro City (For the sick, persons with disabilities, and with special needs, healthcare workers)
  5. Sts. Joachim and Anne Parish, Barangay Calumpang, Liliw (For Teenagers, youth, families, Children, grandparents, and the elderly)
  6. San Isidro Labrador Parish, Barangay Makiling, Calamba City (For Workers, Entrepreneurs, Businessmen and Business Women)
  7. Sta. Rosa de Lima Parish, Santa Rosa City (For Members of Christian and Marian Fraternities, and Consecrated Persons)
  8. Transfiguration of the Lord Parish, Cavinti (For Members of ecclesial movements and new communities)
  9. St. Mother of Teresa Calcutta Parish, Barangay Timbao, Biñan City (For Missionaries, Catechists, and Missionaries of Mercy)
  10. St. John the Baptist Parish, Liliw (For Justice and Promoters of Justice)
  11. San Gregorio Magno Parish, Majayjay (For Choirs, Marching bands and musicians)
  12. San Roque Parish, Barangay San Roque, San Pablo City (For the poor, migrants, prisoners, and workers to console the afflicted)
  13. Cathedral Parish of St. Paul the First Hermit, San Pablo City (For Bishops, those who work with the Holy See, Priests, Deacons, and Seminarians)

"Jubilee 2025" is an international celebration of the Roman Catholic Church, slated from December 24, 2024 to January 6, 2026.

Catholics see the jubilee, or "holy year," as a year of forgiveness of sins, reconciliation, and a recommitment to serve God and mankind.

With the theme "Pilgrims of Hope," Jubilee 2025 urges Catholics to become beacons of hope in a world marred with confusion, pessimism, and cynicism about the future.
