160 DAR employees hit by Covid

MORE than 100 employees of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) have reportedly tested positive for Covid-19, even as cases continue to increase in Metro Manila and other parts of the country.

As a result, operations of some offices of the department were greatly affected.

To recall, in 2020, the operations at the DAR Central Office in Quezon City was temporarily suspended after many of its staff and officials tested positive for coronavirus.

DAR Secretary Bernie Cruz however, assured that operations will continue despite the reported Covid-19 cases.

As a matter of precaution, he will however ask Malacanang that they be allowed to operate with just 60 percent of their workforce.

"Despite the health crises we are experiencing, the DAR will continue to serve our farmers," Cruz assured.

"DAR's service to ourfarmers will continue while the health protocol is being implemented," Cruz added.
