Book your long awaited visit at the National Museum online now or take a stroll around Intramuros regardless of vaccination status!

Just in time for the celebration of the Museums and Galleries Month, the easing of restrictions in Metro Manila since October 16 has allowed the National Museum and select Intramuros sites to reopen this week.

For now, the National Museums of Fine Arts, Anthropology, and Natural History will be open from Tuesday to Sunday with an AM and PM session daily.

The AM Session starts at 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with a cut-off time of 11:00 a.m. while the PM Session starts at 1:00 p.m. to 4 p.m. with a cut-off time of 3:00 p.m.

Only 100 visitors will be allowed at the venues per session. Visitors are required to book their visit online at least a day ahead of their visit.

Reservations will be made only through the official website, www.nationalmuseum.gov.ph. Walk-ins will not be entertained.

The National Museum stresses that they will only accept fully vaccinated visitors. Proof of identification and vaccination will be required upon entry.

Meanwhile, the Intramuros Administration (IA) has announced the reopening of six tourist sites such as Fort Santiago, Casa Manila Museum, Baluarte de San Diego, The Dungeons, and the iMake History Fortress.

However, IA will only allow access for visitors ages 18 to 65 years old.

Regardless of vaccination status, visitors are allowed in the outdoor sites such as Fort Santiago and Baluarte de San Diego while only vaccinated individuals can enter indoor sites and museums.

IA writes that they are working to reopen other sites and plazas. Further details and announcements will be posted on their social media sites.

In accordance with the World Health Organization, people are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after the second dose for a 2-dose vaccine or two weeks after a single dose vaccine.
