I've known director Zig Dulay for the longest time since the late 2000s.

Zig was the Associate Director of Fil-Briton filmmaker Jowee Morel for the movie "Latak (Residue)."

Dulay at the time was pursuing his Master of Arts (MA) degree in Creative Writing but he was thrown into filmmaking by fate.

"Wala po aking background sa paggawa ng pelikula (I don't have background in filmmaking)," he confessed in our exclusive interview at the Christmas party of internationally acclaimed director Brillante Ma. Mendoza recently.

"Kaya malaki po ang utang na loob ko kay Tito (That's why I owe a lot to Uncle--a term of endearment an elder man by affinity or by blood) Jowee," admitted Zig who directed the award-winning films "Bagahe," "Firefly" etc.

Zig and I rarely see each other but when we bump into each other, we talk and recall interesting anecdotes in our lives a lot.

I always read his posts on Facebook which are all very insightful and meaningful, especially his Filipino.

You won't believe it but Zig is from Isabela but he speaks fluent and seamless Tagalog.

Just like what he writes in social media, Dulay talks very profoundly about life based on his daily experiences in and outside show business.

They are also reflective of the nature of his new directorial job, "Green Bones," a GMA Pictures' entry to the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival.

"Sana, panoorin ninyo ang pelikula na magtataguyod sa buhay at sa pagtahak sa landas ng mabuti (I hope you will watch the movie which promotes life and its journey to goodness)," said Zig.

"Green Bones" which stars Ruru Madrid and Dennis Trillo is about the belief that a person was good in his lifetime when during cremation his bones were discovered to have color green in the ashes.

"Life is a struggle between good and evil. It's like tug-of-war," Dulay quipped.
