As a display of gratitude to employees who helped them through the pandemic, the management of Fisher Mall in Quezon City assured its hundreds of qualified employees that it would share 10 percent of its profits to them.

Fisher Mall, located along corner Roosevelt and Quezon Avenue—which was previously the sprawling terminal of Pantranco Bus Company—assured its hundreds of qualified employees that it would share 10 percent of its profits to them.

This was announced by Obby del Rosario, president of Fishermall Supermarket in his Facebook post.

By qualified, it meant those without suspensions, over 80 percent performance rating and regular employment status as of January 1, 2020.

For those who did not qualify this year, the management said they can qualify next year, which they hope will be even better than this year.

“Congrats to all my Fisher Supermarket team members! Although you deserve more than a simple peso amount, please accept this token as thanks from my family for your continued hard work, sacrifice, and dedication to your community,” Obby said in his post.

Obby del Rosario-- son of fishing magnate Roberto "Bobby" del Rosario of Irma Fishing-- thanked the employees for "servicing our local communities (in Quezon City, Malabon and Navotas) during one of the greatest crises of modern history-- that is still something to be proud of." Mallers Investment Corp., headed by Obby's older brother, owns the mall where the Fisher Supermarket is a major attraction.

“It feels like a lifetime ago before the pandemic began. The whole world was panicking. Many of us wanted to panic as well. But we stayed strong. We did our jobs. We brought a stable supply of food and crucial supplies during each and every day of the pandemic. We never closed a single day,” Obby said.

Commonly called the mall that galunggong built, Fisher Mall began in Quezon City and had since expanded to Malabon and Navotas—home to the family’s fishing business

The Del Rosario family which owns Irma Fishing is now considered as the country’s largest galunggong supplier, which started from one wooden fishing boat, Irma Deep-sea Fishing Inc.to a current fleet of over 100 vessels that fish daily. The first mall opened in January 2014.

The Fisher Supermarket’s goal is to make fish the cheapest source of protein in the Filipino diet.

Through Irma Fishing, Obby said they intend to supply fresh fish to Fisher Mall supermarket at competitive prices.

This is doable because Fisher Mall is only 20 minutes away from Bulungan Avenue in Navotas where all of Metro Manila’s fresh seafoods are delivered and sold.
