Reaffirming its commitment to protect the environment beyond its boundaries, the Rotary Club of San Pedro Magic will lead a mangrove-planting and international coastal cleanup activity in Calatagan, Batangas this September 26.

The San Pedro City, Laguna-based nonprofit, in partnership with the Rotaract Club of San Pedro East 3820, will hold an environmental initiative at Ang Pulo in Barangay Quilitisan as part of its “We SEA Hope” project.

The project will bring together mangrove planting and a coastal cleanup along the shoreline of Ang Pulo. According to the organizers, the initiative aims to promote a healthier, greener, and more resilient coastal community.

As part of the mangrove planting activity, the group is calling for individuals, organizations, and businesses to become tree sponsors, seeking support to reach their goal of planting 500 mangrove seedlings, and participants may also take part in the International Coastal Cleanup portion of the project.

Project Chair and Past President Francis Gutierrez will be overseeing the initiative, seeking to reach the group’s goal of promoting protection of the coastal community.
