SM Malls had partnered with the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) to bring the PhilSys Step 2 Registration experience closer to Filipinos.
All three SM Malls in the province of Laguna are now accommodating the Step 2 registration for the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys).
In a press release, SM Malls reported that PhilSys centers have been opened in SM City Sta. Rosa, SM City Calamba and SM City San Pablo.
Lagunenses can now conveniently register for a national ID, the government’s central identification platform for citizens and resident aliens, through these SM Malls in Laguna.
SM Malls had partnered with the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) to bring the PhilSys Step 2 Registration experience closer to Filipinos after sealing a partnership with SM Prime Holdings, Inc. through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed on June 14.
This partnership officially established the nationwide participation of SM Supermalls in the rollout of PhilSys registrations.
“[This] MOU will further the formidable partnership between PSA and SM Supermalls through a joint and cooperative initiative to register all Filipino citizens and resident aliens to the official National Identity Card,” Steven Tan, SM Shopping Center Management Corporation President, said.
With PhilSys, public and private transactions will be made seamless, safe, and efficient through a singular and formal identification system.
PhilSys will also boost and ease the delivery of services by improving the public’s access to financial, social protection, health, education, and other government services (ONT)
