Years after she moved to San Pedro City—initially she was in Juana Subdivision which is under the jurisdiction of Biñan City—from Ermita in Manila, award-winning actress Odette Khan has not been seeing her daughter Claudette regularly.
So on special occasions when the mother and the daughter would want to see each other, it’s either one of them come to where the one is.
One time, Odette would spend quality time with Claudette in Parañaque City, the other time, the daughter would travel as far as San Pedro to be with her mom.
But the COVID-19 pandemic has altered the exciting and voluntary visits of each one of them because as a senior citizen, Khan has to stay most of the time at home except for work like locked-in tapings of TV shows or shoots of films.
Last Christmas, it was Claudette and her kids who went to San Pedro City to spend Christmas Eve with Odette.
It was after the actress attended a Christmas party with the Cataquizes at the Astrodome right in the middle of Pacita Complex.
She stayed at the event past midnight, consequently, she was so sleepy she had to take a longer period in bed to prepare for the next day’s most awaited moment with her daughter and grandkids.
Claudette’s husband works abroad so she and the children were the only ones on board.
Christmas Eve was a memorable occasion for Odette when she spent wonderful time with her grandchildren at Balwarte Chicken House along Pacita Avenue, the place she frequents because she said the chicken is too delicious and servings are unlimited.
“Sulit na sulit ang Christmas ko with my apos (Christmas was worth it with my grandkids) and my daughter,” exclaimed Odette who takes San Pedro City as her second home.
