In the News. PH Foreign Borrowings for Virus Fight Hit P887-B.
Given the amount the government has borrowed from foreign institutions for Covid-19 related expenses, each Filipino should have already received P13,500 that is for each Filipino, even the newly born.
Then how come my kapitbahay is shouting in protest for not having received his ayuda of P1K per person as ordered by President Duterte?
I told my kapitbahay, our city, San Pedro City in Laguna got about P283 million from the national government to distribute as pandemic ayuda.
Much of that must have already been distributed to beneficiaries. I emphasized on MUCH.
Where that outside of that “much” went, nobody knows. But surely tens of thousands in the city are complaining.
None in my neighborhood has received the P1K to P4K per family ayuda.
My kapitbahay said Binan City with higher population has completed its distribution two weeks ago.

The President is surely in big trouble. His best of intentions get sabotaged at the ground level.
The pandemic ayuda was the President’s statement of malasakit to the Filipinos.
That malasakit has become masakit to many like my kapitbahay.
Darwin who works as a contract worker and paid a daily wage has been out of work for over a year now.
As an endo worker, he has become a big burden to his family. He was looking forward to getting that P1K from Pres. Digong. Even this was deprived him.
Now he is angry at the President.
####
People are too angry that mood in social media in the city has never been more angry.
“Turuan” is what is happening among offices involved in the distribution. Worse, the Barangays and city hall are now about ready to “kill each other”.
Sana the war is to correct the mess they have created not on the “hatian” of whatever.
#####
At the height of deepening dissatisfaction of voters to the current administration, opportunists, like vultures, are ready to make the kill. This vulture is in San Pedro City.
So I was not surprised when social media got flooded with messages of gratitude to one outsider who is an instant San Pedro insider.
This instant insider distributed food bags. His photo in the post showed as backdrop thousands of bags of rice, thousands of boxes of canned food and tasty bread from your favorite but expensive baker.
Interesting, though, in the post was the tag: “para sa pagbabago” and “tunay na maasahan”.
This insider smells rot in our city that he claims he can change while saying he is the person to rely on, not our mayor.
His posts on social media betray the real plan of this instant insider.
Let’s wait and see.
