The city government of San Pedro, Laguna has tapped on a new partner in its drive to provide affordable medical healthcare for its residents.

Last March 3, San Pedro City Mayor Art Mercado forged an agreement with San Pedro Doctors Hospital in Barangay Landayan for the implementation of its Hospital Financial Assistance Program.

The program seeks to augment existing public health services by enabling eligible beneficiaries to receive necessary medical treatment in an accredited level 2 private hospital without being unduly burdened by hospital expenses.

Through this partnership, the San Pedro City LGU commits to providing financial support, while the hospital agrees to extend medical services to program beneficiaries in accordance with agreed standards and procedures.

With this partnership, all private hospitals in the City of San Pedro are now covered by an existing MOA with the local government," the local government announced in its Facebook page.

Earlier, Mercado also signed agreements with two other major private hospitals in San Pedro City - the Evangelista Medical Center and the Westlake Medical Center - for the implementation of the Hospital Financial Assistance Program.

"This milestone ensures improved coordination, faster assistance processing, and equitable access to financial support for patients, further strengthening the city’s healthcare delivery system and commitment to accessible medical services for every San Pedrense," it added.
