Residents of San Pedro City, Laguna now have another option for affordable yet quality healthcare services.

As the city government continues to fast-track the completion of the much-anticipated San Pedro Medical Center, it has also continuously forged partnerships with other private hospitals in Laguna province and elsewhere to ensure that San Pedrenses can afford basic and specialized healthcare services.

The latest in the list of hospitals that have forged partnerships with San Pedro City in its drive: the Calamba Medical Center.

Last August 26, San Pedro City Mayor Art Mercado formally signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with officials of the Calamba Medical Center for the implementation of the city’s Hospital Financial Assistance Program.

The program seeks to augment existing public health services by enabling eligible beneficiaries to receive necessary medical treatment in an accredited level 2 private hospital without being unduly burdened by hospital expenses.

In a statement, the San Pedro City government said the partnership is aimed at strengthening access to quality and comprehensive healthcare services for San Pedrenses.

Through this partnership, residents will have expanded access to outpatient medical care, cancer-related services, specialized eye care, and other essential and specialized healthcare services, providing more comprehensive and coordinated medical support to the community.

The San Pedro City LGU commits to providing financial support, while the hospital agrees to extend medical services to program beneficiaries in accordance with agreed standards and procedures.

“This collaboration reflects the shared commitment of both institutions to advancing accessible, responsive, and quality healthcare services for the people of San Pedro,” local officials told OpinYon Laguna in a statement.

The Calamba Medical Center is the fourth private medical center in Laguna province to have entered into an agreement with the city government of San Pedro for affordable healthcare.

The LGU has earlier forged partnerships with three major private hospitals in San Pedro City – the Evangelista Medical Center in Barangay Pacita 1, the San Pedro Doctors Hospital in Barangay Landayan, and the Westlake Medical Center in Barangay Nueva – for this program.
