LU bags awards at 17th ALCUCOA National Conference

Laguna University (LU) recently proved that it can now compete with larger higher educational institutes (HEIs) as it bagged four awards in the 17th Association of Local Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (ALCUCOA) National Conference held last December 12.

Among the awards given to LU is the “Academic Excellence Award” for having demonstrated Excellence in Education as evidenced by the outstanding performance of its graduates, excellent results in board examinations.

The award was also given to the university after one of its graduates, Blaisy Jane Argete ranked 8th in the March 2024 Licensure Examination for Teachers with an average of 91.00 percent.

Moreover, LU's Passing Rate is above the National Passing Rate in March 2024 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers; 100-percent Passing Rate in November 2023 and a rating above the National Passing Rate in April 2024 Midwifery Licensure Examination; and 3rd Top Performing School in April 2024 Midwifery Licensure Examination.

Other awards garnered by the university include the “Human Resource Development Award” for its commitment to promote the welfare of its personnel through its strategic HR intervention program and the “Best Web Design and Management – Bronze Award” for setting up a visually appealing and informative website which significantly contributed in building and maintaining a positive institutional image and reputation.

Meanwhile, Laguna Governor Ramil Hernandez, who is also the chairman of LU’s Board of Regents, was awarded the “Model Local Chief Executive Award” for his “exemplary leadership and unwavering commitment to education as a key driver of social mobility and community development.”

Laguna University was created by former Governor Teresita "Ningning" Lazaro in 2006, with the aim of promoting the right of all Lagunenses to quality education.

It currently offers courses in various fields ranging from arts and sciences; business, administration and accountancy; computing studies; education; and engineering from its main campus at the provincial capital of Santa Cruz.
