The Pagsanjan office is the newest addition to the list of extension offices of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) in the province of Laguna.

WITH Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade as guest of honor, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) recently opened an extension office at the Areza Town Center in Pagsanjan, Laguna.

The Pagsanjan office is the newest addition to the list of LTO extension offices in the Calabarzon area.

Previously opened extension offices are in Taal, Batangas; Binangonan, Rizal; Catanuan, Quezon; Tagkawayan, Quezon; Naic, Cavite; San Pedro, Laguna; Alabat, Quezon; Tanay, Rizal; and Taytay, Rizal.

"Safety for me is not subject to compromise, it is the paramount objective of the DOTr. Sa pagbubukas ng mga LTO Satellite Offices, hindi na tao ang lalapit sa LTO. LTO na ang lalapit upang makapagserbisyo sa tao," Tugade said during the opening ceremonies.

Before the establishment of the new office, motorists would have to travel to the LTO-Calamba Office for vehicle inspection, registration or renewal of registration.

For his part, Pagsanjan Mayor Peter Casius Trinidad expressed gratitude Tugade for his support in improving the lives of Pagsanjan residents.

"We will no longer need to travel far because we have now our own LTO Office. This means we can save time and money to spend on other important matters we have to attend to," Mayor Trinidad expressed.

Areza Group of Companies Chairman and CEO Cesar Areza, who holds the usufruct of the property where the new LTO extension office is located, also assured the DOTr that he is willing to grow as a partner of the government.

"Modernity requires advancements in our capacities to serve the public. Seeing the good work of our local and national government, as part of the private sector, it is just right to support their causes," he said.

Tugade also reminded LTO officials and personnel to remain true to their oath of good governance.

"Magserbisyo po tayo ng tama at wagas sa mga tao pagkat anumang building at pasilidad ang ating gagawin kung sasabayan ito ng korapsyon ay hindi ito magtatagal. Ang korapsyon ay walang lugar sa wastong serbisyong pang-gobyerno, sa serbisyong pampubliko," he said.
