The last two years of the COVID-19 pandemic is indeed scary and uncertain but show business has to move on and so its stars.

One of the young actresses affected by the global pest was Julia Barretto not only because of the harrowing experiences she went through when she was portrayed as the boyfriend snatcher of Gerald Anderson from fellow Kapamilya actress Bea Alonzo during the onslaught of the virus, but the memorable instances she got while being locked in shoots.

When the audio visual productions were given the greenlight to shoot their projects, creative and technical crew were advised to observe health protocols like wearing of masks and face shields, applying disinfectants and sanitizers and maintaining social distancing, Julia toed the line however inconvenient and still frightening.

Barretto had to undergo all of them like a series of swab tests and other precautionary measures on location while she was doing a Viva TV drama in Pampanga. She also had to tape other shows and face up photoshoots with corresponding health safety nets in order to avoid being infected and worse, contracting the disease.

Julia had endured all of them.

At the height of the infections, showbiz functions were limited to virtual coverages like Zoom meetings on interviews and presscons.

So when government authorities finally lowered the community quarantine and standards to Alert Level 2 as COVID cases waned, Barretto was one of the stars who felt relieved because several activities in showbiz were eased up like going personal.

Just recently, she attended the in-person media conference and special screening of the film “Bahay na Pula” which she starred with Marco Gumabao and Xian Lim.

“Wow! Finally. This is my first time to be out with a lot of people but still with physical distancing,” Julia exclaimed at the press preview and interview with the media.

Barretto hoped this atmosphere of easiness continues until the new normal is achieved.
