Was it only yesterday when he was just a little boy I used to cuddle when I would pay their house in Project 7 or somewhere near Baler Street and West Avenue in Quezon City a visit?

Whenever I would personally go and tag along with ER Ejercito in many of his location shoots and before we went to work, I would drop by at his house.

Jerico Ejercito was still a one-year-old at the time.

Whenever Maita Sanchez would carry him in her arms when I arrived at their place, I would kiss and cuddle Jerico.

Jerico’s features at the time was a cross between his dad ER and mom Maita.

Suddenly, Jerico is all grown-up now and ready for another shot in his arm as a politician after he was groomed to be an action star although his big breaks in the biz has still to be realized.

All these are bequests by the veteran father to an upstart kid.

Now, the young Ejercito is running for vice-governor of Laguna Province with former ABS-CBN news reporter and incumbent congresswoman of the 3rd District Sol Aragones as his governor in the 2022 elections.

The question is: Is Jerico ripe to throw his hat in the political ring?

Well, Jerico is an extension of his father and as long as ER is willing and able to train and to coach his son the ropes of politics, vice-gubernatorial aspirant will learn a lot from his parents—Maita also being a seasoned pol when she was a former mayor of Pagsanjan town and now an incumbent vice-mayor of the idyllic community.

Jerico has been exposed to the political lives of his mom and dad, and surely, he has observed and imbibed a lot of the winning streaks and took note, dismissed the faux pas that come with the field.

The other question is: Will Jericho chart his own political destiny apart from veteran ER as he thrives with the millennial generation which has its own perception of things and decision-making on many matters.
