The Laguna provincial government has denied letters purportedly signed by Governor Ramil Hernandez for a pageant allegedly being conducted for the benefit of Covid-19 victims.
IF somebody comes to you asking for a donation for a project allegedly being conducted by the Laguna provincial government, be forewarned: that may be a scam.
In an advisory posted on May 12, Laguna Provincial Information Office (PIO) Director Chris Sanji warned Lagunenses against people showing letters purportedly signed by Governor Ramil Hernandez for a pageant allegedly being conducted for the benefit of the Department of Health (DOH).
“Muling pinag-iingat ang publiko sa isang modus na namang gawain upang makalikom ng pera at gamitin sa mga patimpalak kuno,” Sanji said in his Facebook post.
The letter claimed that the bearers are asking for solicitations for a virtual “Miss Gay Philippines 2021” pageant to be held on May 17, the proceeds of which will allegedly benefit Covid-19 patients.
Sanji also urged those who were approached by the scammers to immediately report them to the Laguna Tourism, Culture, Arts and Trade Office (LTCATO) and to the police. (ONT)
