In what could be a very welcome development for many people, Enchanted Kingdom will reopen to local tourists starting June 5, operating on a 30-percent capacity during weekends.

GOOD news for theme park lovers: Enchanted Kingdom (EK) in Sta. Rosa City, Laguna will once again open its doors starting Friday (June 5).

In a statement issued June 1, the theme park said it will reopen its outdoor attractions to local tourists every Saturday and Sunday, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Capacity will be limited to 30 percent, while indoor attractions, such as the “Agila: The Eksperience” and Rialto 4D will remain closed.

Meanwhile, EK’s corporate offices in Makati City will operate from Tuesday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

As part of its reopening, EK now offers an “EKciting Twin Spin Promo” for a Regular Day Pass until August 29.

EK’s reopening comes after it was certified by the Department of Tourism and the city government of Sta. Rosa as an “outdoor tourist attraction,” one of the key requirements of the DOT for the reopening of tourist destinations in areas under general community quarantine (GCQ).

The theme park, one of Laguna province’s top-grossing tourist destinations, had reopened last October but was soon closed again after the re-imposition of enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) last March.

Laguna province is currently under GCQ “with heightened restrictions” for the month of June. (ONT)
