Three of the blurbs Sol has coined are “On the Gob volunteers,” “Mga Gob ka na Sol” and “Alagang Sol on the Gob.” Instead of just simply “on the go,” the phrase has added the letter b to sound Gob or Governor of the province, the post she is eyeing.
Aragones has online programs as well to lure prospective voters.
I wonder why the likes of Jones and Aragones would settle for the traditional and typical publicity stunts when they can show their strength and vision by going non-traditional and still win the hearts and minds of Lagunenses.
For one, why can’t Angelica and Sol present the real causes of poverty like exploitation of big companies on workers, apathy etc. in Laguna—only two of the many problems the province faces—and not compounding marginalization in their turf where the rich get richer and the poor poorer?
Why can’t they, especially Aragones (who I suppose has socio-political background on the liberation of the grassroots they are serving) organize and consult with their voters and discuss what they indeed need and want in life and not feeding them with illusions of a grand governance unrealistically achievable in their lifetime as long as they live the neo-feudal setup?
Or is their politics purely personal?
