A total of 36 beneficiaries from six barangays in Luisiana, as well as 60 beneficiaries from 10 barangays in Majayjay, received livelihood kits through the Department of Trade and Industry’s Livelihood Seeding Program – Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay program.
SMALL business owners in the towns of Majayjay and Luisiana in Laguna have been given another chance to continue their livelihood despite the economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Recently, the Department of Trade and Industry – Laguna Provincial Office (DTI-LPO) gave out livelihood kits to the beneficiaries of Livelihood Seeding Program – Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (LSP-NSB) in these two towns.
A total of 36 beneficiaries from six barangays in Luisiana, as well as 60 beneficiaries from 10 barangays in Majayjay, received livelihood kits, as well as P1,000 capital provided by the office of Laguna 4th District Representative Benjamin Agarao, Jr.
LSP-NSB is one of the flagship programs of DTI, which aims to provide a wider business development assistance by providing government services to the public through the local government units.
Its goal is to further capacitate the barangays, through its personnel, on how to provide basic information dissemination or basic business advisory to the MSMEs in their area.
The beneficiaries identified are culled from identified barangays, specifically those in the vulnerable communities affected by natural or human-induced calamities.
They may include sole proprietors, cooperatives, or sectoral associations that are located in identified barangays, including those in Local Communist Armed Conflict (LCAC) affected areas and vulnerable communities such as the Indigenous Peoples (IPs), refugees or stateless persons also known as Persons of Concern (POCs).
Priority assistance are given to MSMEs affected by natural and human-induced calamities including health disasters such as the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
