The city government of Cabuyao has donated a 900 square meter lot located at the Enterprising Cabuyao One in Barangay Banaybanay for the new CDA headquarters even as it hopes to boost the local economy with the help of the agency.
TRUE to its vision to facilitate in the creation of livelihood and job opportunities and boost investments in various areas of the country, the Cooperative Development Authority - CALABARZON will soon build its regional office in Cabuyao City, Laguna.
This, after the agency recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) and Deed of Usufruct with the city government led by Mayor Mel Gecolea.
The CDA is the lead government agency responsible for registering and developing various cooperative groups in the Philippines.
Through the MOA, the city government of has donated a 900 square meter lot located at the Enterprising Cabuyao One in Barangay Banaybanay for the new CDA headquarters.
"The search is over," CDA CALABARZON Regional Director Salvador Valeroso following the MOA signing, which ended their 29-year quest of acquiring a permanent site for its regional office.
Designed as a venue for trade and industry for its people, the Enterprising Cabuyao One was conceptualized by Mayor Gecolea since the city's major income sources are from commerce, industries and services.
“True to its vision to facilitate in the creation of livelihood and job opportunities to Cabuyeños, and boost investments in the city, CDA-CALABARZON regional office shall be one of the offices that will trigger the invisible hand of the economy, and promote inclusive growth to the people,” the agency added.
The agency aims to "promote the viability and growth of cooperatives as instruments of equity, social justice and economic development" in the country”.
