Antipolo, Rizal, one of the idyllic towns in CALABARZON is the 2021 Gawad Urian Best Supporting Actress Hazel Orencio’s beloved roots where her artistic pursuits were introduced and honed.
In one of her social media posts, Hazel thanked her teachers in the arts and her family for supporting her acting career. Orencio said she learned to act in many school plays and workshops she joined in the past.
“I also take pride in my award as Gawad Urian’s Best Supporting Actress,” said Hazel.
Orencio won the prize for her performance in Lav Diaz’s “Lahi, Hayop” of Sine Olivia Pilipinas.
“When I found out that I won, iyak ako nang iyak (cried and cried). I’m really thankful for this award,” she said in her online reply to my query on her reaction to her victory.
