Before and after the holidays, but especially during the height of last year’s Christmas season, local candidates in various posts were busy making the rounds of barangays and social organizations in Laguna in an unofficial campaign period masquerading in greetings to constituents and prospective voters.

Angelica Jones made herself visible with her irrepressible mom Beth Jones as they oriented their Third District voters of their do-good things.

Sol Aragones was in the thick of things then and now as a challenger to Governor Ramil Hernandez while congressional candidates Frank Mercado and Anne Matibag were ubiquitous in many parts of the lone district of San Pedro.

Meanwhile, many of the local, district and regional political spirants were making their presence felt by joining Christmas parties. Mayoral opponents Aaron Cataquiz and Art Mercado in San Pedro City were attending gatherings left and right

In Pacita 2, Dave Almarines was squeezing any last-minute appearance to his hectic sked while words got around that Ara Mina would be in tow. According to senior citizen Estrella Gualberto Salcedo Inandan, they were excited to see Ara in person.

They waited in vain, though, although the husband showed up and explained the absence of his wife.
