Call of Duty: Vanguard and Call of Duty: Warzone players will soon meet its first Filipino character: Isabella Reyes.

Call of Duty: Vanguard and Call of Duty: Warzone have launched their new map named Caldera, an uncharted island in the Pacific set during WWII. With the update, the game will also introduce its first Filipino character.

Meet Isabella Rosario Dulnuan Reyes, a close-quarter battle (CQB) specialist trained by her father in martial arts, including Arnis, from a very young age.

She later joined the Hukbalahap Resistance to seek justice for her father’s tragic passing. She is also part of Task Force Trident, which Warzone and Vanguard players will soon meet for Battle Pass.

While Isabella will be the first Filipino character in Call of Duty, she joins other Filipino video game characters such as Josie Rizal from Tekken 7 and Paquito in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.

Before them is Talim from the Soul Calibur II, a fighting game released in 2002.

Despite being in a fighting game, she is innocent, meek, and would often dissuade opponents from fighting.

Another fighting character is Nicole (SPARTAN-458) from the 2005 game Dead or Alive 4. She dons a full-body armor that masks her Filipino features but her in-game profile states her nationality and how she likes halo-halo.

There is also Kerry Eurodyne from Cyberpunk 2077 which was released in 2020. He is a musician NPC whom players will meet to complete either the main and side jobs.

Do you know other Filipino characters in video games?

Call of Duty: Warzone Season 1 arrived last December 8 and Dec 7 for Vanguard players. The update includes a new map, weapons and anti-cheat system.
