“Vicenzo” star Na Chul, 36, succumbed to lingering illness

Na Chul from K-dramas such as “Vincenzo,” “Little Women,” and recently “Weak Hero Class 1” has passed away brought about by complications of health issues.

South Korean actor Na Chul who was famously known as Na Deok-Kin in Korean mafia drama “Vincenzo” and in a more recent project as Gil-Soo in “Weak Hero Class 1” died from lingering illness at 36.

Star News Korea reported the devastating news on January 21, which was confirmed by entertainment industry officials due to his lingering illness.

The actor was admitted in the hospital after his health deteriorated and was receiving treatments until his untimely death.

However, an official cause of death of the actor has yet to be released.

According to NME, Na Chul debuted as a theatrical actor in 2010 with the play called Anne’s Diary, he then transitioned to playing roles in tv series and movies such as “Little Women,” “D.P.,” “Happiness,” “Hospital Playlist 2,” “Forest of Secrets 2” (“Stranger 2”), “Once Upon a Small Town,” “A Superior Day,” and “Jirisan”.

In the hit Netflix series “Little Women”, Na Chul had the chance to work with actress Kim Go-eun who played one of the sisters in the series, as the lawyer to Kim Go-eun’s Oh In-ju.

Go-eun took the time to pay tribute to her former castmate through an Instagram post calling him “the best actor ever.”

In addition, she described the actor as “The most amazing man, dad, husband, son and friend.”

Another Little Women co-star, Uhm Ji-won, celebrated the actor’s legacy in an Instagram post.

“Actor Na Chul, thank you for showing us what good acting is. I wanted to see more of your work. RIP.”

Na Chul was also casted in Concrete Utopia, which is set to be released later this year, together with Lee Byung-hun, Park Seo-joon and Park Bo-young and directed by Um Tae-hwa which revolves around the the story of earthquake survivors in Imperial Palace Apartment in Seoul.

According to Soompi, Na Chul’s funeral will be held today, January 23 at the Soonchunhyang University Hospital Funeral Home in Seoul to be attended by his closest friends and family.
